The continual roll-out of the Australian Governments Stimulus package has given Australian Highland Dancers the opportunity to commit to attending additional major events than originally planned.

At the last meeting of CCHDI, the current financial crisis was discussed heavily and many items were put on the table as to how we as a non-profit organisation can better help the dancers and their families.

Inline with the stimulus package, where many tax-payers will be receiving up to $950 of cash bonuses, we are offering dancers who enter the International Highland Dancing Championships of Australia and supporting events a cost effective payment plan option where parents/ dancers can spread the cost of the event over the coming months.

This is the only payment plan option available, and is further proof of the CCHDI's commitment to delivering an accessible, affordable, International event on home shores.

Recently CCHDI announced an additional 2 judges, with a 6 piece panel split 50/50 of International Guest judges and Australian based World Wide judges.

For those of you who have never been to the Internationals, it is a 4 day event not to be missed. Commencing on Friday 24th July with Douglas McFarland's Down Under the Kilt; Reel Men Do Dance! show featuring 4 time World Champion Tony Cargill, Canadian Champions Cameron and Vincent Collins and Desmond Warfolk, American Champion Steven MacRae and Australasian Champions Kyle Marston and Douglas McFarland. The show will be supported by live band Highlander!

Saturday and Sunday 25th/26th July are two intense days of competitions, catering for every category and age of dancer. Pre-premier Aggregates, Pre-Championships, Champion Challenges, Jig/ Hornpipe Titles, International Championship - 7 age groups, Australia's only 21 and over category, National Cups, Team events and Choreography. A complete program for all styles of dancer.

And capping off with an International workshop on Monday 27th July.

The 3rd International Highland Dancing Championships of Australia and supporting events will be the biggest Internationals yet and we are inviting every dancer to come and enjoy a little piece of the Central Coast as we welcome you to our home. For many years now dancers of the Central Coast have travelled the length and breadth of Australia and now it's our turn to put on a show for you.
