PICTURE: The Band Club Sydney will host one of the six events in conjunction with the APBA NSW Branch's mini band series

The Pipe Bands Australia NSW Branch has taken great initiative to provide a new competitive platform over 6 events, with the creation of a mini bands competition season.

New South Wales Miniature Pipe Band Championship Season will commence 4th May and conclude 5th July 2008.

The New South Wales Branch of the Australian Pipe Band Association Inc. will be running in conjunction with other promoters a series of competitions to determine who will be the State Champion Miniature Pipe Band in their respective grade for 2008.

There will be a series of six contests, four in the Sydney Metropolitan Area, one in Canberra and one in Newcastle. It is hoped that bands will support as many as is possible, a point score system will be used giving 5 points for 1st, 3 points for 2nd and 1 point for 3rd place at each of the contests. The Miniature Band with the highest total after the 6 contests will be the State Champion for 2008.
