Three of the lead dancers from Douglas McFarland's Down Under the Kilt Dreamtime Stories have been awarded the top 3 Australian dancers over the Easter weekend's Champion of Champions event.

The three dancers who each played a significant role in the production staged last July and available on DVD, were Kyle Marston (3rd), Belinda Lush (4th) and Chantelle Burke (5th). Kyle, by being the highest placed Australian, was awarded the Australian Medal.

The Champion of Champions Championship of Australia is a biennial event which many dancers hold in the highest regard. This event was most recently hosted by the NSW State Committee of Highland Dancing at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre with over 400 dancers competing across 2 days. The event does not return to NSW until 2018.
