9 February 2009

On Tuesday 10th February, Central Coast Police, Firies, Ambos and Hospital Staff will play a charity Soccer Match in the Gordy Wilson Memorial Shield to raise money for the Children's Fund at Gosford Hospital.

This match is to honour the wishes of Senior Constable Gordon Wilson who was the last NSW Policeman killed on duty on 11th November 2006. He was organising a Charity match at the time of his death and this match is now played in memory of Gordy.

The Gordy Wilson Memorial Shield will kick off at 9am at Pluim Park, Lisarow.

As well as raising much needed money for the Children's Fund, Central Coast Firies will take a collection at the match to be passed on to the Victorian Bushfire Disaster Appeal.

Our emergency workers are always there to support the community whenever the need arises, this charity match allows the general public to support Police, Firies, Ambos and the hospital staff in their quest to raise funds for two genuine causes.

Our heart goes out to our fellow Australians affected by this tragedy - a magnitude of loss that is too horrendous to comprehend.
