From the day she started Highland Dancing, teachers at the Veronica Law School of Highland Dancing knew Hannah Polo was something special. A light yet powerful bounce, strong points with sophisticated muscular control and musical interpretation beyond her years.
In quick succession Hannah moved through the levels into Restricted Premier where she had many great Title wins, before claiming her position in Premier placing 2nd in the NSW State Championship in 2006. By that stage Hannah was a regular in placings in Championships all over Australia and soon enough rose to Champion status winning the Canberra City Championship in 2007, a special win next to one of her tutors who won the Adult Championship that same day.
So it was to great disappointment that Hannah incur an injury late in 2007 which prevented her from peaking for the Champion of Champions Championship in March, however through extensive therapy and a strict training regime, Hannah is coming back to form, and it couldn't be better timing.
Over the long weekend, Hannah placed 3rd in the 11-12 years Southern States Championships held in Mt Gambier, her highest placing in 2008. This followed 4th in the 7-12 years ACT Championship and 6th in the 7-12 Eastern Australian Championship.
Hannah and her training team will invest in a 6 week schedule designed to peak at the International Championships before heading to Scotland where she will compete in the Scottish, British Open and Commonwealth Championship.
