The Adult Eastern Australian Highland Dancing Championship trophy has remained on the Central Coast as Kyle Marston successfully defended his trainer's title. Douglas McFarland won the championship in 2007.

Kyle, who's form is going from strength to strength, took his first championship win of this year with 8 of the available 12 judges first placings. This follows his win of the Australian Medal at Champion of Champions in March and his earlier win at the Central Coast Titles in February.

It was a special win with Kyle's name now appearing directly under Dougie's, the first time this milestone has occurred. Kyle has previously won the Canberra City Championship which Dougie has won 3 times, however there was a years gap between the wins.

The win has contributed to the team's game plan which culminates at the International Highland Dancing Championship being held from the 18-21 July this year at the Central Coast Youth Centre. Kyle was 4th in the event in 2007.

Veronica McFarland, Principal of the VLSHD was touched by Kyle's win following on from her son's win in 2007.
